Dan Thomas
Dan Thomas is the Director of Timberline Ministries, a Torchbearer Bible school and conference centre in the mountains of Colorado. Dan enjoys the adventure of life in the little mountain town of Fraser with his wife Sarah and three kids (two of whom are in college). They spend time snowboarding at the local ski resort, hiking in the mountains, and doing life with the 42 college-aged students and hundreds of youth who come to Timberline to grow in their relationship with Christ every year. Of all the things that Dan does with the students and guests, his favourite is teaching God’s Word. Dan is a lifelong learner, having attended a one-year Torchbearers programme in England and Austria followed by a degree in Bible Teaching and Biblical languages from Columbia International University. He grew in his pastoral understanding serving as an associate pastor in Wisconsin and is presently stretched daily by his role at Timberline Lodge and living life as a dad of two young women and a teenage son.
TOPIC
1 Samuel
The battle between the flesh and the Spirit is clearly communicated by Paul in his New Testament letters to the early church. While Paul defines the language around this topic, we see the reality of this battle played out through the pages of the Old Testament.
1 Samuel is one of these examples where we see man’s way is in constant opposition to God’s way. By the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, the writer of 1 Samuel compares for us characters who show what life lived in the flesh and life in the Spirit looks like. We also see the clear reality of the fruit of the Spirit in contrast to the fruit of the flesh.
As we journey through the characters and their actions in 1 Samuel, we can see how we often need to make similar decisions: to choose to live by faith in Christ and His plan or to try to work out our salvation in our own strength. I am excited to journey through 1 Samuel together to see that true Life is found in walking in step with Jesus!

HOW TO REGISTER
Online. Registrations open at 8:30 am PCT on Wednesday, January 20, 2027.
Once submitted online, registrations will be acknowledged as received. When space in the conference is secured and the registration is completely processed, registrations will be confirmed as accepted. Each registration requires a deposit of $100 (CAD) per person. The deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted.
