John Poysti
After 25 years of working in a Russian-language radio ministry together with his father, in 2005, John was asked to assume the leadership of Holsby Bible School, the Torchbearers centre in Sweden. Married to Christine, a native Swede, they served at Holsby for 15 years, followed by another six years as Director of the Torchbearers International home office in Colorado.
John and Christine have three daughters and six grandsons living in Seattle and Winnipeg. Having recently officially retired from salaried employment, John and Christine are able to spend more time with their family while continuing to teach at various Bible schools. John’s current favourite Bible book to lecture on is the book of Job.
John and Christine bring a unique international flavour to their ministry having lived in a combined eight different countries.

Loving God for Free!
The story of Job challenges the simplistic formulas that try to explain why the righteous suffer. Job’s experience with unexplained suffering helps us consider whether our love for God is really for free, and not only for the blessings that He might offer us. When Job loses every physical measure of blessing, will he still love and worship God for free, for nothing other than Himself? Even more significantly, Job’s life – including his experience with suffering – foreshadows the life of Jesus Christ. We will explore together some of the deep, priceless and surprising truths contained in this ancient book and focus on several of the allusions to the Life of Christ in the life of Job.

Online. Registrations open at 8:30 am PT on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Once submitted online, registrations will be acknowledged as received. When space in the conference is secured and the registration is completely processed, registrations will be confirmed as accepted. Each registration requires a deposit of $100 (CAD) per person. The deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted.
