The Peace that is Beyond Comprehension

Philippians 4:6-7, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

The Lord cares for and loves each of His children more than we can fathom. One way we see this is in His promises to give us peace that surpasses all understanding when we bring our worries and anxieties to Him.

At the beginning of Philippians 4:6, we are told to not be anxious about anything. It is easy to be worried about our lives, our future, our loved ones, and so much more. However, there is no need because the Lord has a perfect plan for each and every one of us and we just need to trust. The second part of verse six, says, “but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”. So we are to pray about everything and bring every concern and worry to Him. However, we also are instructed to give thanksgiving as well. Thanking Him for all He has done and all He will do.

In verse seven, “And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The Lord promises that if we turn to Him in times of worry, He will give us peace beyond our understanding and one that is not based on our circumstances.

Each day, we are given the choice to bring our worries and anxieties before the Lord. So bring them to the Lord because He loves and cares for each one of us and wants to give us peace.

1 Peter 5:7, “cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
