The Best Year Yet!

The start of every new season brings a time of reflection and a time of looking forward to what the new year has in store.

We try to plan our days. We book vacations and start planning trips. (Holiday Bible Weeks anyone?! Registration starts 8:30 AM PST on January 16th) We try to improve ourselves by setting goals and building healthy habits.

Through all of the plans and goals, we strive to do the best that we can to make sure that we have “the best year ever!” But that is, ultimately, not up to us. In Proverbs 16:9 it says “The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” (NASB)

Goals and plans are not inherently bad things but in whose strength are we doing them? Are we trusting ourselves and our own preparedness for the success of the new year, or are we trusting God

On the outside, it looks like we are relying on our own plans to mitigate any disaster we may encounter, but where is our focus?

Isaiah 26:4 says, “Trust [confidently] in the

Best Year Yet

LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the LORD GOD is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].” (AMP)

We are to trust with confidence in our Lord. He is to be our focus! Throughout all of the planning and goal making, He is to be why we act in confidence.

Isaiah 26:3 (AMP) says, “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].”

Keep your mind on Christ in the midst of it all. He will be at peace whose mind is set on Him. Let's expect the best year yet because we've trusted & relied on Him!

Celebrating 40 Years of God's Faithfulness!

Fordham Family

40 years ago on Friday, January 13, 1979, through a unique series of events, God lead Charlie & Marlene Fordham to Thetis Island, BC, Canada with their 2 very young children in tow. They arrived on the property with less than $100 in their pocket and they've witnessed first-hand God supplying for all their needs including God-anointed Staff, students and guests who have come from around the globe to learn from God's Word during both the Conference season as well as the Bible School year.

The property soon got dubbed as a haven of teaching and personal ministry and in the spring of 1979 Capernwray Harbour Bible Centre opened its doors to its first conference group. That fall, 77 students attended the inaugural Bible School. Since that time there have been many thousands of students attend the Bible School; training for Full-Time christian service, regardless of occupation!

Staff 1979 / 2018

Now the Centre operates as a One Year Bible School from September-May. From May-August, over 4000 guests are hosted for various retreats and conferences. These range from small groups and clubs to Outdoor Education programmes, Church retreats, family reunions and much more. The Summer Holiday Bible Weeks are week long Bible teaching programmes in a holiday setting for the whole family.

Steadily, under God's provision & direction, both outdoor and indoor facilities have been improved and beautified directly reflecting the transformation that takes place in the hearts and minds of those who have come to discover the risen, and indwelling Lord Jesus Christ as the only Saviour, Lord and Life, eternally!
